Privacy Policy

Summary: Contigga collects the minimum needed for parental monitoring — app usage totals, device locations, filtered-site attempts, and short keyword snippets. We never collect full conversations, we never sell data, monitoring is always visible to the child, and history is deleted automatically after your plan's retention window.

What we collect

From parents: name, email, password (stored as a one-way hash), and billing status. Payments are processed by Stripe; card numbers never touch our servers.

From paired child devices: device model and OS version, battery level, per-app usage minutes, blocked-app open attempts, GPS coordinates and geofence transitions, domains blocked or allowed by the web filter, and keyword match events consisting of the matched term's category, severity, source app, and a snippet of at most 200 characters.

What we deliberately do NOT collect

  • Full message or chat content — matching happens on the device
  • Photos, videos, or audio recordings
  • Passwords or keystrokes typed by the child
  • Anything after a device is unpaired or a subscription lapses

Children's privacy

The service is operated for parents and legal guardians. Monitoring is disclosed on the child's device at all times (visible icon, persistent notification, "what we monitor" screen). Child profiles carry a first name or nickname and an optional birth year only.

Retention & deletion

Location and event history is retained for your plan's window (30 days on Family, 90 days on Family Plus) and then permanently deleted. Deleting your account removes all associated family data.

Access controls

Only the parent account that paired a device can see its data. Our own staff tooling shows aggregate counts, never raw locations or keyword snippets.

Sharing

We share data only with processors required to run the service (hosting, Stripe for billing, email delivery) and when legally compelled. We do not sell or rent personal data. There is no advertising.
